The Peoria Stark Emergency Telephone System Board (ETSB) invites community members to the groundbreaking of the new Stark County Emergency Communications Center on Friday, October 28, at 10 a.m. at the Stark County Sheriff's Office. The Sheriff’s Office is located at 130 W Jefferson Street, Toulon IL.
Stark County is the last county in the State of Illinois to implement 9-1-1 service. Stark County joined the Peoria County Emergency Telephone System Board to create a joint board in November of 2021. The State of Illinois granted the ETSB $2.4 million for the new Stark County Emergency Communications Center, radio system upgrades, and 9-1-1 service. The new center will provide service to all Stark County residents.
